It has been very dark here in the North of England over the last few days
and so I have been using the time to reorganise my ever growing collection
of patterns, yarns, vintage fabric, beads, threads, books and magazines.....
(Yes, it is that time of year again and the years do pass by too quickly!)
~~~~~~~
I have started to use more of the
tins to store my ever expanding supply of craft materials.
Lots of very pretty, happy flowers.
Just what is needed in these dark Winter days in England!
Of course, during this time I succumbed to my usual habit of rediscovering
old patterns and remembering with nostalgia the events surrounding each project
(choosing the pattern, purchasing the latest yarns and most of all the lovely company
and conversations that took place while knitting away)
I have lots of patterns from my earlier knitting days in the '80's
which I must share with you when I have chance to scan the photographs.
Looking back, I seem to have been particularly taken by beautiful, soft mohair yarn
as I have so many patterns!
~~~~~~~
In my teens I became a serious knitter and
would often begin a project and decide I wanted to wear it the following weekend,
which resulted in me knitting with utmost determination into the early hours to get it finished.
I am quite surprised now, as I look back, just how many projects I completed
and that was the start of my real love and understanding of this wonderful craft.
These days I like to work at a slightly slower, more peaceful pace!

Congratulations, with you 1 year blog anniversary! It looks like you've always bin there.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the anniversary. I'd love to see some of your early projects. I wish I'd taken photos of some of mine. Like you, when I was younger, I couldn't wait to finish a project and get on to the next one. I worked much faster than I do now. I like to savor each one now.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first year of blogging. What a beautiful blog you have. I realy LOVE your patterns, but unfortunately I can't knit.
