Baking Days...

Happy Baking Days
at
Hello friends....
I hope life is treating you well.
How will you be spending your weekend?

Ashley will be home from university
and we are celebrating Leah's exam results
(so much excitement!)
and so I am planning to do some extra special baking from
Mary Berry's
lovely cook book!

******
There are so many delicious cake recipes
to choose from here......
with wonderfully indulgent sounding names such as
'Death by Chocolate Cake'!
I will also be adding a touch of nostalgia
with some pretty butterfly cakes...
They always bring back memories of my grandma
'Mary Jane'
who made the most perfect cakes....
They never fail to spread some happiness
and are just
 too pretty to resist!

******
Do you have any new projects planned at the moment?
I am testing yarns for my new knitting pattern.
I still have the photographs to take and some more work to do on the text
but I am having great fun in the process and I will
keep you updated on my progress....
It hasn't been a great week in regard to good natural light for my photographs.
Maybe we will be luckier over the next few days
(although, it's not looking too promising in our corner of the
world this afternoon. ...the lights are on!)

******
Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead
and hoping the sun shines for you,

Until next time,

Inspiration....

 Inspiration
at

When I  start working on a new project
I like to collect all kinds of things...

that will inspire me along the way...

....pretty colour combinations, contrasting patterns,
 interesting textures and images....

amongst everyday objects which are all around me.

It helps me to gather my thoughts and ideas
and then stops me wandering!

I love these fresh and cheerful colours.
They are brightening up the days in
 our little corner of England!

Hmm...stripes, spots and bows...
and seafaring tales...

****
Also, on another note....
if you are looking for a new cook book,
this is a great read with lots of traditional recipes from around the British Isles
There are also interesting notes about the history
that lies behind them and lots and lots of lovely photographs....
bakeries, tearooms, harbours, bunting...
The photographs of Mousehole brought back
some lovely memories of a family trip
a few years ago.
Such a very pretty place!

*****

Wishing you all good things
until next time....
