Decisions...
Making the final yarn choices for a new pattern is never an easy task....
Looking once again through an array of colours yesterday morning
(and being in love with too many!)
making that final decision was becoming ever more difficult...
too much yarny loveliness by far!
Then, during my regular trip around Flickr...
(I love to see how others view the world, don't you?)
this beautiful vintage illustration almost jumped off the page.....
as though I was being given a nod in the right direction..
clarifying my muddled thoughts...
Suddenly and unexpectedly a decision is made.....
all the thought processes finally come together....hurray!

Red, white and blue…
And so...
I am keeping to the nautical theme...
and will be using my ''TEAROOM Mice'' mood board
which you may remember from here
to keep me on the right path!

Variety is the spice of life!
I have been thinking too...
we need some more male company around here!
...I promise to restore the balance friends...
Stealing quiet moments….
Away from my Seafaring Adventures...
it's so nice to put the feet up every now and again...
with several cups of strong tea and a few entertaining reads...
especially my favourite blogs...bursting with all that creative energy!
So much talent...truly wonderful...

It’s the small things…
Mr.H brought 'Mollie Makes' home for me too...
a lovely surprise as I missed the first edition
He's a good one....knows me so well!
I can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon....

I love those colors! I just finished knitting a mouse from Eli at Flutterby Patch, I posted her today. I will have to purchase one of yours to try next, they're beautiful!

Can't wait to see what you are creating, and I agree we need more males. your going to be a busy lady. I have finished Candy bear and Primrose Rabbit. with Primrose I changed the colour of her cloths,Using the wool I had in my stash. I've really enjoyed knitting them Daisy and Bluebell next. :)
ReplyDeleteThose colours are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I need another boy toy to knit. LOL. Looking forward to seeing what little sailor you come up with.
ReplyDeleteSuch a yummy post - I also love the red, white and blue nautical colourway! In fact, I was hooking a granny square in my lunch hour today when I suddenly decided that was the colourway I liked the best of the yarn I was using and would stick to for my first crochet make (a cushion, I think!) I really love the little nautical mice and your stripy knitting...the little mice might look nice over here with my crochet in fact! Thanks for lots of lovely pictures to enjoy!

A lovely post Susan. I know what you mean about finding inspiration amongst a jumble of ideas. Often a single picture or object can clarify everything. I recently saw a picture of Monet's garden and wondered if I could use his colours for one of my dolls outfits but think maybe that might have been a bit ambitious (more appropriate for the garden)! Keep up the good work. Eli x
ReplyDeleteThat's a very inspiring post, sweet Susan. I just adore the nautical style. Much blue and white added with a touch of red. These designs are ADORABLE!!

We spent the day at the lake and are looking forward to several more, so the nautical theme works for us. We're teaching the pups to swim and do water retrievals.

Happy Weekend Susan, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving your lovely comment. Happy times with your new machine.big hugs, Margie.
