Good afternoon everyone..
Have you had a good week?
Misty autumnal mornings have been enjoyed here
but often they have turned dark and blustery as the days have progressed....
....not the best weather for crafting and taking photographs!
Have you had a good week?
Misty autumnal mornings have been enjoyed here
but often they have turned dark and blustery as the days have progressed....
....not the best weather for crafting and taking photographs!
Lots of pretty flowers in jugs have definitely brightened up
our house and spread a little cheeriness around the place..
they never fail to work their magic!
I'm loving my new fabrics too...
the floral design is from
Liberty's Bloomsbury Gardens
...such a beautiful collection.
and the second is
Michael Miller's Little Elephants
both purchased from a new favourite shop
~♥~
The gorgeous Liberty prints are inspiring me
to make some pretty tea dresses!
I've always been a fan of their fabrics but
I'm suddenly in love with Liberty!
So tea dresses are now on my ever growing 'to-do' list...
It's good to dream though, isn't it?
My blocks have been sewn into rows and now the rows need to
be sewn together making my quilt top complete
and ready for adding the border...
I did start rotating the blocks the wrong way for some reason...
(due to my terrible sense of direction I think!)
but I'm finally on the right road I'm happy to say.
I tried to take some pics of my progress yesterday but due to the
terrible light the lovely strawberry reds
were turning out very odd indeed developing a strange orangey tint
so will try again on a better day...the one above
was a quick click as I decided to give up and put my camera away
but strangely it was the best of my attempts...always the way
(must add the dress is on my mannequin and not me!
I don't dress like that when I'm working....
Ah....but I so like the idea!)
....and still I have to photograph my last quilt but it's so large that
I've now decided to try and photograph it in situ on the bed!

Hopefully you'll be able to photograph your lovely quilts soon, so we can all see them. I just love that little elephant print fabric, so cute, I'll have to check out the new-to.me link.

Hello inspiring Susan! How did you manage to take such beautiful, bright, and cheery pictures with the gloomy weather we've been enjoying?
ReplyDeleteFirst, a huge congratulation to the two winners; they must be jumping for joy tonight.
Thank you so much for pointing out the existence of the Liberty's Bloomsbury Garden collection. Juxtapose the name Bloomsburry with the noun garden and I feel very joyful indeed.
Have a peaceful and creative weekend Susan making pretty frocks in Liberty's fabric ;-)
Stephanie
Your fabrics are all so pretty, I wish I were a better sewer, I'm afraid it's all a bit slapdash with me, I certainly will never make a dressmaker!
ReplyDeleteI always like to see Nigella on the telly when she is dressed to the nines cooking, again not something I'd ever be any good at, I love cooking but if I put a ball gown on to do it, it would be disastrous!
Have a lovely weekend!
Congrats to the winners of your generous and very beautiful gifts! You are so sweet! I love your blog, it's so bright and cheerful. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
