❇Winter Mice ❇
at
The TEAROOM
Last year in my Christmas blog post I made a little Scandinavian inspired winter mouse
....she hadn't been planned and wasn't intended for a pattern at that time...
❇ ...and so she's been on my 'to do' list for some time...❇
...but she's finally here along with her very loyal companion...
I love creating little people
there will always be something magical about it
with her red winter berry decorations
and wearing her favourite snowflake pinafore
❇ (woolly stockings too of course)❇
❇ lars ❇
❇ On the day I chose his name ❇
I received a message from a lovely customer from Norway
...of the very same name...
...so it really just had to be...
I love their softness
which I think make for the prettiest of mice
This is the last of the mice series for the moment
but it has definitely been lots of fun to create
(apart from too many dark days which I can admit
resulted in some stamping of the feet...oh yes! :-)
Anyway, I can stop my preoccupation with the weather
for the moment and looking at those dark wintry skies
I'm very happy to say it's now available in my
❇ETSY Shop❇
and printed copies are available here
In the next few days it will be published
here on the blog and on Ravelry too
for those customers who like to save to their library
(Thank you so much to everyone who has already purchased
and for the lovely comments on my FB Page!)
❇ ❇ ❇
...and now I'm very excited
to be starting some new projects in
2014
I must say a big
thank you too in this post to
'Kindred Stitches Magazine'
for making
Mary Jane's Tearoom
their ETSY find for the 3rd issue
'Pretty in Blue'
This is a lovely new magazine which is
available here on the Apple Newsstand
to instantly download to I pad
All the pages have live links to
makers, projects, books, homeware
and also those craft supplies which can sometimes be hard to find
Technology is brilliant, isn't it?
(well...at least most of the time :-) )
❇❇❇
The rest of my week here will be all about Christmas
...decorating...enjoying some xmas crafting..knitting...
...and picking up my hook again!
❇X❇X❇
I'm so looking forward to
my girls being home on Friday
...so much to catch up on...
and I want them to have the best Christmas
before returning back to uni
(3 whole weeks at home!)
❇
Thank you for calling by
especially at such a busy time
I'll be posting again before Christmas but until then
wishing you lots of sparkly festive fun!
Take care

i always love it when a new post pops up from you Susan! This one is magical....your new little mice are just adorable, and I especially love the Scandinavian red and white! Well done on being in that lovely magazine, you certainly deserve it! It's a lovely time, when your girls come home for the holiday....I'm sure you will enjoy every moment. Have a wonderful festive week!

It's a delight to see a new pattern from you Susan. This little duo are so cute and perfect for this time of year, I love them. I love the fact that because they are small, they are so much more "doable". It can be off putting to be confronted by a large toy pattern - the size of these mice adds to their charm. Well done with the magazine mention - your blog and your designs have such appeal so I'm not surprised.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adorable mice, such lovely colours and so beautifully made.
Enjoy this lovely busy Christmassy time,
Kate x
Love your mice... xxx

ReplyDeleteyour Christmas mice are adorable. Hope you have a great time at Christmas and enjoy the girls being home
ReplyDeleteWow! You did write a pattern for the winter mice, and in time for Christmas too! I have been wanting to knit one since I saw her on your blog last Christmas. You are amazing, thank you so much. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family.
ReplyDeleteOh I love these. When I was younger I collected winter mice. Every Christmas I looked for that special one, then added her to the growing collection. I also always sent Christmas cards with little mice on them. It's been a long time since I've treated myself to a new Christmas mouse, but this may be the one.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful holiday with your family and I look forward to lots of new creatures in the new year.
Sue

These are simply the most beautifully knitted items I have ever seen! Unfortunately I can't really knit or crochet but these are skills I'm hoping to learn in 2014 (along with approximately 200 other new things!) so I might just pop over to your Etsy Shop and purchase a pattern. Sassi and Lars really are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou make the prettiest things. There is so much detail. Love all your little creations!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the red and white, your designs are exquisite..... 2014 is the year for me to learn to do colour work, I've set my sights on it...intarsia, fairisle....I will master thee!

Dearest Susan,
ReplyDeleteI am, quite simply, completely besotted with this little mouse! You are a magician and attach as much importance, in a completely different manner, of course, to creating little people as I do. There is something so very special about doing that, isn't there? I love her little face, I love EVERTYTHING about her. Congratulations to you for making this sweet, sweet pattern.
Warmest wishes,
Stephanie
