♥ Happy 2014 ♥
...wishing you a year full of all good things...
....and before it's too late...
a little look back on some of my creative 2013
(when finally teaching myself to crochet was definitely a highlight)
and I loved making my Cats and Mice blanket through a very cold and snowy January
(and finding that it was actually possible to fit almost 1000 sts on my circular needle)

ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you and your family. One of my new year resolutions is to blog more and I've done two so far. Another of mine is to finish off all my WIPs and make a start on the beautiful mice and rabbit patterns I purchased from you last year. Looking forward to reading and commenting on your posts through the year.
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo mosaic of the last year. I don't do resolutions as such but I do want to learn to crochet this year. I have tried before without any real success. You flowered cushion looks gorgeous.

I LOVE YOUR WORK AND WORLD, SUSAN! Those mice looking at ME are just too cute for words....I want ONE!
ReplyDeleteMy home is full of pleasant little treasures as such, but there is always room for more. Once I restore my piggy bank, I must come to purchase something. I have been off of work now for two whole weeks due to the holidays, with a surprise school closing for Monday due to extremely serious cold temps: -50 F! Can you believe that? So on top of reading delicious poetry and writing, I am trying my hand at some hand sewing....I saw a cute little stuffed velvet bird on Pinterest and I'm giving it a go. But I see your handiwork, and I am so thrilled and impressed.
Wishing you more creative fun as we both stitch away the cold moments of January! Anita

ReplyDeleteHello, dear designer,
ReplyDeleteI am on the hunt for a turtle pattern. I just know your boy bunny is the perfect little man to start with but I have no idea how to bring that wrinkled belly and handsomeness into a turtle! So, when you have a moment, and decide a turtle would be a great addition to join you little family of tearoom inhabitants, please let me know!
Happy New Year Susan! I've been away from blogging for awhile and it was such a pleasure looking back through all your lovely makings! Can't wait to see what's in store this year!

Isn't it a great feeling of accomplishment to learn a new skill? It just opens up a door of opportunity to create. I was working on a project that had some very tedious (zzzzzzzzzz...sorry, drifted off asleep thinking about it) repeats so to liven things up I learned 3 new (to me) techniques. In December I learned how to knit continental and reverse continental and on another project instead of doing colorwork on circs, I learned how to use dpns. I had never touched them before and was amazed at the difference in gauge I had. You just have to keep learning and thats what I love about working with yarn--endless possibilities! Happy New Year, Susan and happy creating ! : )
ReplyDeleteWelcome to 2014 dear Susan. You made some wonderful things in 2013 and I can't wait to see what you get up to this year. I am sure you have had a wonderful time with your darling girlies, enjoy the last few days, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful surprise ... I have just come back to blogland after an enormously busy year and find you are hookin! Well done you and oh so beautifully too! I will be back for more! Heather xxx
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful makes this year Susan....I know how much I enjoyed watching your cat and mouse throw, in fact this year some colour work is definitely on the cards....maybe start off with something more within my reach though! I also love the ewes and rams throw...have you seen that...it is equally brilliant.
ReplyDeleteCrochet is a fun pastime isn't it, somehow I find it more forgiving than knitting, although I love the fabric of knitting...I think over the last year my knitting time is becoming equal to my crocheting time, which I never thought would be the case. This year I would like to add some more sewing into the mix, but goodness knows when I'll fit that in!
I'm along on this magic carpet....looking forward to it!
Thank you Faith...Colourwork is so addictive...and yes....I love the throw you've mentioned...would be lovely to make it one day soon (we could definitely do with a few more hours in the day, couldn't we? :D )...xxx
