Winter Knitting....


















...my cowl in progress...
Cast on a few days ago... almost complete now and ready to be blocked.... 
I'm looking forward to finishing it over the weekend and will take more pics when it's finished
(pattern from Quince and Co. using the beautifully soft, smooth and bouncy
 'Chickadee' .... 100% American Wool)

...in my kitchen...
I must show you how hares are gradually multiplying around our house...cushions, lampshades, ornaments...
it will have to stop soon...(but not quite yet because I've just seen some lovely fabric ;-) )

...my aran sweater in progress...
Front almost finished...although only the front...so a way to go yet!
(pattern from Virtual Yarns using the utterly gorgeous Hebridean 3 Ply
...very different to the yarn just mentioned although equally as lovely to work with... 100% British Wool)
Isn't wool amazing? ... I never get tired of reading about where my wool has come from...
...it always adds to knitting adventures....it really is magical...there's no other sound explanation

...pretty wonderland cup and an all time favourite book...
(a present from my girls...the original illustrations by John Tenniel are amazing and completely inspiring x)
I plan to collect all my favourites from the Penguin Clothbound Classics now
and replace my very tatty paperbacks ... next one has to be 'Wuthering Heights'
...and finally...
I must mention one of my best craft buys in the last year!
Laden with all my current projects...yarn, needles, hooks and books...
It has wheels and moves smoothly from place to place with me
(much to everyone's amusement around here)
It's perfect for moving out of the way and into a cupboard if short on space
(and I finally no longer lose anything while I'm working...hurrah!!!)
...it also comes in several colours and it can be found here

      Hi Vivienne..No, it seems you can never have too many hares (although I am at risk of letting things get out of control here haha!)...and I couldn't do without my trolley now ...it's perfect and much more useful for me than a bag or basket....the Chickadee is beautiful..I'll write more about it when it's finished ;-) hApPy wEeKeNd lovely...I'll be coming to visit you ♥

    Hello Susan - so lovely to read all about what has been going on with you lately. Your knitting looks wonderful, and the yarn you used, so tempting! You are right about knitting it is entirely magical - the sound of the needles as you work, the yarn gliding through your fingers.....
    It is just so relaxing and comforting. I love your photographs - the little hare hook is enchanting. As always, you have made a dull, wet, day so much more colourful and inspiring.
